With a simple boolean expression
to limit your result set
roughly, then rank the result
set by a word, a paragraph of
text (a title, an abstract, a
claim or any other forms), even
whole document (a patent
number/publication number). It
overcomes too much to read by
ranking the most relevant
documents to top while keeping
large set of document intact.
Commonly used expressions:
b/:
any combination of boolean
search expression, example:
b/oven or b/cooking and ucl/219
r/:
rank results by
keyword/phrase/patent number,
example: r/4965188
di/yyyymmdd:
only documents published before
yyyymmdd
da/yyyymmdd:
only documents applied
before yyyymmdd
Examples:
1.
b/antenna and r/US20050265729
Limiting all documents that have
keyword "antenna" in full text,
and ranking that result set
based on each document's
relevancy score to US20050265729
2.
(b/antenna and b/rotatable) and di/20040721 and r/US2006019727
Limiting all documents that have
both keyword "antenna" and "rotatable"
in full text, and published
before date 2004/07/21, and
ranking that result set based on
each document's relevancy score
to US20050265729 |
